WebcomicZ prepares to change hands

Well, it's all pretty much official that WebcomicZ has found some new owners. I'll go ahead and leave it the them to reveal themselves in their own time. Until then I just want to say thanks to all of the readers and supporters for helping building WebcomicZ to what it is.

What started as a simple domain name I purchased for $10 and built by hand from scratch has become a recognizable presence in the webcomic community. I'm proud of what it is, and only wish I had more time to put into making it what all I thought it could be.

Still, I have faith that its new owners will do great things with the site and hope it accomplishes what I had set out to do from the beginning; help webcomic creators expose their comics to new readers. Bear with us as it may take a few says for the transfer process to be completed.

For me, I have a number of other projects I will be working on outside of the webcomic community. I'll be back though with a number of other unique ideas I've had that I think will help bring exposure to what I still feel is an under-appreciated artistic medium for some great storytelling and humor.

Until then, good luck all.

Christopher Schultz

A heads up...

Hey! Chris here, under my new persona...

I just wanted to clear up the situation. Without going into too many details, there have been issues with the logistics of the change of ownership. Mostly just a lot of trying to work out where to host it and such.

So, it's not really that the new owners don't care, just that they haven't been in a position to really do much yet. It's been a generally complicated situation.

Anyway, I think that it is getting resolved REAL soon, and I'm currently in the process of making some much needed fixes for them before they start updating and taking over.

And, bottomline, I trust these guys to treat this site right when they can. :)

Re: Old News

amulettes,

I don't think the current owner really gives a damn about this site. Ever since they took over, it seems this site has fallen apart.

The heart is definitely not in it like Chris's was. Sad to see it go by the wayside

Old News

Surely this is old news now and shouldn't still be showing on the front page?
I'm very glad this site is still here but some new articles etc would be nice and I'm sure users like me would be more than happy to contribute if encouraged to do so.

Thanks and good luck!

Thanks very much for all the work you've put into this site. For a lot of us whose comics were unknown, it gave us a more fighting chance to gain some exposure and some pride seeing our titles a little further up the numbers than they could reach on other lists. Pictures of You still draws new readers every day from WebcomicZ, so it's certainly made a difference. Thanks again, and I hope what you've built continues to grow.

Cheers.
