So, I might as well take this opportunity to ask...
What subscription services does everyone else use? I'm using feedburner and my numbers are less than spectacular. My bounce rate isn't too bad, and a lot of people do go through my entire archives. Do you find that your returning visitors just use a bookmark or do most of them come through a feed service?

I'd be interested in hearing responses to this as well. I've just set up an RSS feed through RSSPECT, but my knowledge of RSS is pretty close to nil.

I just kind of mad my feed by looking around for directions online about how to make one. Frankly, I don't know exactly how it works, but it gets the job done.

about 1/4 of my traffic this month has come through the feed.

Indeed...I use wordpress (comicpress theme), and it has built in functions for rss, rss2 and atom.

likewise, comicpress's built-in RSS is what I use - havent bothered to learn to code one myself or anything.
First thing I did: changed it so it doesnt send the images out with the feed. Anyone getting images delivered via feed is not going to load the site, and that means my generous advertisers are missing out on exposure.
It should be noted that the new comicpress lets me specify a different folder for the RSS images, so if were less lazy (a theme here...) I could put up smaller images for the RSS, thumbs and the like.

Little late in adding to this, but...

RSS isn't actually that hard to code -- even if you only know basic HTML. I make my manually. Sure, it would be nice to have it automatically update, but it doesn't take long for me to do and I have more control; I didn't want "X hosted by y" links all over my site. I'm kinda stubborn on coding 85-95% of my own stuff on my site.

Besides, a lot of the RSS feed services had extra stuff I didn't need. The only feed I have that I don't code myself is my ohnorobot transcription one.
