In anticipation of the upcoming update schedule feature, I have a few ideas:

Settings for "Hiatus", "bi-weekly", "Erratic Updates" and even "Concluded" (then I could post a few old favorites like Mac Hall and Fur Will Fly)alongside the more usual day-of-the-week things.

multiple-category webcomics. For example, Cosmic Feline is Sci-fi/Furry, there are tons of Manga comics that are also other categories... the idea is, one label doesn't cut it for most webcomics. Thus I suggest tagging.

Incidentally, I want to ask again for a filter system, as in "list by genre" or better yet "show me all sci-fi/furry" or whatever other crossovers one wants.

I like the tagging idea. Comics should be allowed to belong to multiple categories.

For the update schedules. My idea is this: Allowing members to select any combination of each day of the week. If a comic only updated mondays, they can click Monday. If it updats Mon-Wed-Fri, click on monday, wednesday and Friday.

I also allow a frequency option, as you suggest, for erratic bi-weekly, monthly, etc. So, if it updates every other monday, they'd click monday and bi-weekly.

If concluded, the days of the weeks would pretty much be ignored.

Make sense? Sound like it would handle 90% of the situations? The goal is obviously to lead into some kind of RSS feed option until I can find a way to develop an automated method (through crawler or something else).

Guess all of this means I need to set up an "Edit Webcomic" page now too. Gonna be a busy weekend.

And yes, advanced search and browse by category/tag(s) in on the list. With the directory over 200 webcomics now, I need to make it easy to search, browse and find the really good ones.
