Now that I've massively updated the site, and have a list of what I still plan to add/fix/improve on ... I'd like to know what you all want added to the list now?

So let me know. I need to add a few more, I don't know, activities that will get this community involved on the site.

A caption contest is a simple idea that's in the works. And I have some ideas for "uses" for the avatars. Should be interesting and fun if I can work it out.

Ooh, contests would be a great way to get a little more activity here on the site.

Perhaps a caption contest like you suggested.

Maybe a photoshop contest (in the sense where you make fun of a picture via cheap edits and whatnot).

Could also try to have a contest for artists even, because of the webcomic dynamic. Like maybe have people submit different types of "fanart" for webcomicz. Like a comedic picture with the logo in it, or a film noir type of picture/comic, etc.

Anyone else also have some ideas to throw around to help draw in more member bonding?

Yeah, I'm really trying to think of ways to increase the social interaction aspect. Right now, only like 2 people have sent out Friends Requests.

Granted, there's still limited benefits to being friended, but I'm working on it.

Thanks you everyone contributing and posting, updating comics and all that. The sites growing pretty quickly thanks to all of you.

Another important feature I want to add. The ability to assign actual owners to webcomics and allow them to LOCK the webcomic's profile page. I forsee issues with "officially" edited data being over-written by regular users.

I hope this is the place to suggest this, but I would love if it would be possible to add more than one comic for account. (Or figure out how to do that ) I know I'm not the only webcomiker who does more than one comic, and I think it would be a bit of space waste if we had to open a second account to register the second comic.

(Of course if we can do that already, how? I swear I've looked everywhere...)

You can simply use the Suggest a comic Link:

http://www.webcomicz.com/webcomics/suggest.html

There shouldn't be a limit on the number you can submit...

If you find you can't let me know what error you get.

Thanks...

At the original topic/question, there's a few things I would like to see on the site, if they're possible to add without too much of a fuss:

1. Vote incentives -- they really do encourage people to vote more, and it's something users could link off-site rather than upload to the WebcomicZ server. The only problem I see with implementing this is that anyone can currently edit comic profiles (upon approval of their edits), so that could make adding incentives difficult, as anyone other than the comic creator(s) could post them.

2. Adding a Top 100 or such to the comic list, and make that list navigable to lower numbers, probably by the 100's -- this gives comics lower on the list better exposure and a chance to be seen by visitors, I think.

3. I'm not sure exactly where it would be best to add it, but some sort of small list of "Most Overlooked" section -- it would list the comics with the fewest votes. This also gives comics with less exposure a chance - especially since we can currently only browse alphabetically and by the top ten lists (I know you're working on other options, I'm just pointing out how it is right now).

I've found some really good comics before by navigating through the lower ranks on other sites, and it's not something you generally see on comic archiving sites, so I dunno... I guess it would make this place stand out just a bit more.

4. Lastly, as I said on another topic, a section/forum for people to share and post tutorials to help out fellow artists, writers, designers and other people in the webcomic community.

I think that's all that I can think of at the moment.

Some good suggestions...

I've been toying with the idea of incentives actually. I think to successfully do this though, I have to start applying ownership of comics to members. Again, something I've been trying to work out in my head. These two features are in the pipeline to be worked on, along with fixing tagging.

As are tutorials and articles. A simple enough addition, but I have just not had the time to add it yet.

Lots to do... lots to do and so little time to do it. :P

I know updates have slowed down a bit here recently, but I'm still very much working on improving the site. Thanks again to all who have helped me with this and are sticking around.

Hey, there's no rush. Get to them when you can. :)

Hm... As for the incentives... Maybe you can find a way to do it without giving ownership to the comics? There might not be a way around it, but perhaps. I can't think of any solid roundabout at the moment, but if anything comes, I'll be sure to give a suggestion or two.
