Topic: I hate Internet Explorer. And so should you!

If any of you are using IE6, I apologize...

Seeing as I am using Vista, I no longer have access to Internet Explorer 6, so have no realy way to test my site's layout in IE6.

It appears as though there have been some graphical and layout-related bugs on the site for some time.

Including:

• Grey boxes around all icons.
• Tables floating to bottom of screen.

IE!? >:O

I know your frustration. I don't know what it is about IE but I can't figure out how to remove this big "missing image" zit in the middle of the forehead of my web page. It only appears in Internet Explorer. Looks fine in Firefox and there is no image that should even be missing. It causes my comic to jump down a bit so the bottom is cut off on some screens.

Ahh, the wonders of stray broken images.

Well, technically, the "missing image" is still in FireFox, but firefox just doesn't show it.

Looks like you have a div in your comicpress template with the following:

< div id="comic" > < img src='http://herman.manateepower.com/'> < /div >

Which would be the source of your trouble. If you can edit your template, removing that should... err.. pop that zit 'o yours.

PS: Wow... so much wrong with my site in IE. :(

Thanks, I fixed it! It involved this: echo "img src='$siteurl/$filename'in the "functions" area. I'm not sure what its initial purpose was, but deleting it seems to work.

BTW, how do you enjoy working with ComicPress?

I like it. It functions like it should and it's pretty easy to customize. I actually got rid of a lot of the Wordpress stuff like the calendar, "recent articles," etc., because I wanted as simple a page as possible. I needed the archives and back-forward functionality but I think my particular comic benefits from there not being a lot going on. It looks like you can do a lot with it though, and for someone who has only a basic understanding of HTML, it's perfect.
